La Pequeña Princesa Rosa™ (The Little Pink Princess™) is a project I started this year as a young children's television show. I had been intrigued by the show "Poco Yo™" and wanted to do something with the same innocence and moral lessons, but in a stop motion animation style rather than using CGI.
My inspirations are my granddaughter and her older cousin. I envisioned the world of Sophia,™ the main protagonist -- a little girl about two years old with a VERY big imagination -- to be a place where the "real" world and her fantasy world constantly flow one into the other.
She lives for part of the time in the "real" world of her apartment with her doting parents, but much of her time is spent in the fantasy world of the Little Pink Princess , her imaginary play companion. The idea for the feeling of the series could be described as a stop motion version of "Poco Yo™ meets Little Nemo in Slumberland."
Sophia's ™ imagination allows her to take any real world situation and make it into an adventure in the realm of the Little Pink Princess ™. The magical kingdom is filled with beauty, and all sorts of lessons, ranging from life lessons, through moral choices and learning the social and intellectual skills a little girl needs to get ready for nursery school. I want to educate while making a fascinating children's fantasy series with a cyclic and compelling story line which will show how good a young children's television learning series can be.
